Spring Semester 2009

So... I have been in preparation for Spring Semester 2009... Being that my major is now undecided, it's giving me more of a chance to kind of pick whatever class I want, instead of classes only for a certain major. So, that'll be nice, but, my life is about to get stressful. Here's my plan...

First of all, we have had our bid for shifts at work. I will be working from 2pm to 12am (10 hrs) with Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays off. I will be working this shift from January to March. So, mixed in now is my class schedule.

Enrollment opens up tomorrow at 8am. Since I stay awake that late anyway, I'll be first to get my classes. :) Here's the classes I've chosen.

Fencing- Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm
Social Psychology- Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm
Principles of Biology- Fridays from 6pm to 9pm
Biology Lab- Saturdays from 8am to 10am.

Fencing is going to be more of a relaxing class for me. I've always wanted to learn how to fence (sword fighting) and I was ecstatic to see that there was a class available, during the time I'm available!

I have learned this past semester something quite important about myself... I cannot do classes online. I don't learn that way. I dropped the classes I was in online this semester. I can handle going to campus, learning from lectures, you know, doing things hands on. But through the computer? No way. It's basically reading a book and answering questions. I just don't learn that way. So, all these classes I'm signing up for is on campus with a total of 9 credit hours. I've scheduled all my classes so when we change shifts in the middle of the semester, in April, and I'm not able to keep the same shift, I can change over to mids again and be able to still attend.

It's going to be hard. I've already mapped out what my week will look like and basically I'll be getting use to no more sleep.. Or at least, not as much sleep as I'm used to getting. I've planned it well enough that I'll be getting the recommended hours of sleep. 8 hours. My body has adapted to at least 9 to 10 hours of sleep (Lol). But, I like being busy. I've noticed that. If I'm not busy (like right now) it's like I don't know what to do with myself.

So, I hope it works. My only concern is if I have to transfer over to the midnight shift, I might have issues getting to my lab class. If I end up working Friday, and don't get off on time Saturday morning (which is supposed to be 7am), that'll be a problem. But, I'm really going to try to either transfer over to Mids and take Fridays/Saturdays or Saturdays/Sundays off (which will be HARD to get those days off), or stay on the exact same shift. We'll see.

It's going to be hard, but I need to get back into the swing of things.

That sure is a lot on your plate, but luckily you are young enough to be able to survive on a few hours of sleep. Not like us old fogies. ;)

My freshman college roomie used to fence. She got really tired of my "curses! foiled again" joke. lol Word to the wise: Don't try to fence with a building. She slipped and twisted her knee so bad that she was on crutches for 2 months.
