I can't express the extreme happiness I'm feeling due to the elected President Obama. I admit, at first I had my doubts. I live in Kansas, which voted primarily for McCain, so you can understand why. But when I flipped on the TV and saw how far ahead Obama was on the electoral votes, I knew.
I can't believe it. The first African-American president.
First of all, as you know from my previous post on politics, I didn't vote for Obama because he's black. I voted for him because I honestly and truly felt that Obama was the best candidate to better this country. Not to mention, I'm Democrat and much prefer a Democrat in office as opposed to a Republican. But in the end, it really does matter who will do best.
His acceptance speech was so very touching. I teared. I haven't felt so much hope for this country and have such a high respect now for this government than I have now. Just knowing that I just witnessed a historical victory is amazing in and of itself.
I will pray for the safety and protection of President Obama. There are a lot of crazies out there and a lot of people who aren't so happy with the results. Regardless, like Obama stated during his speech, "I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too."
May God be with President Obama, and may this nation continue to change, grow, and improve.
I will post his entire acceptance speech on here. It's absolutely beautiful. :)

I cannot concentrate on work today at all. I am so glad my boss is at trial all day! lol
(((hugging you))) WE DID IT!
On Friday, I watched "To Kill a Mockingbird", on Tuesday a black man is elected President. What a juxtaposition of the times: The depression when no matter what, a black man had zero rights & found guilty of a crime he did not commit(in the movie), and the 21st century where a black man can be, AND IS, President.
I didn't vote along racial lines either, I voted w/ my heart. We've got lots of work to do, but I have hope.
