New Hobbies

Thanks to a friend of mine, I picked up a new hobby. Painting! Who would've thought? I went to Wal-Mart and picked out acryllic paint and paint brushes and canvasses. I decided instead of spending tons of money on paintings and photographs, I'd make my own. Now, I'll probably spend tons of money on paintings and photographs anyway, but the theory is I won't spend as much.

The pictures I've painted aren't actually pictures, more like decorative quotes. The first one is maroon, a gold splattered trim with the quote 'It's not the amount of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away' written in cursive and in the color white. The second one is painted green and in gold writing says 'As the thunder rolls, I barely hear, Your whisper through the rain, I'm with you'. I also painted a brown cross in the background. I hung them up in my room. I want to make a really big one and hang it up in my dining room. We'll see.

Also, I don't know if you would call this a hobby, but I have a new fetish for plants. I was cruising around Wal-Mart and of course this time of year they have a dozen different plants out for sale. I didn't buy any yet, but I'm planning on going back. I want this fake tree lookin thing to go in my house in the dinning room area. Then I want to get the hanging plants and hang them outside on my porch. I think the older I get and the more time I spend living on my own, the more domestic I get. Just today I was talking about how when I get married how excited I'll be to move into a house, start gardening and decorating the house.

I guess I have to get married first though :).
