I'm definitely sick. :(
Last night was a busy (but good) night. I had a felony warrant arrest out of KCK and a drug arrest right at the end of my shift. It was funny because here I am, literally driving in to the parking lot of this restaurant to get gas (the public work's gas station is behind the restaurant), when I see this car with a few black kids next to it, looking like they had just made a drug buy. I was just like '..........'. They looked at us and hopped in the car real quick. I think they were trying to cross the state line into Missouri before we could pull them over, but, they had a broken tail light and I got them right at the state line. It turns out the driver was suspended, so we towed his car, searched his car incident to tow, and found drugs.
Yep, he got arrested. But, since that was at the end of my shift, it took forever. The report still isn't done. I have to finish that today. So, I ended up getting to bed at a little after 2am.
And woke up at 8am unable to breathe very well. I woke up, layed there, one moment I was freezing, the next I was hot, then I'd get really cold again. Even I know that means fever. Then I realized I really couldn't breathe very well. I ended up calling my mom who ordered me to an urgent care. So, I got up, went to the urgent care feeling absolutely miserable.
They tested me for mono and strep (sp). Both came back negative, which the doctor said was very odd, because my throat was too swollen for it to be something small. She asked when my throat started hurting, I said yesterday. Then she told me that it's probably too early to tell what I have. So, I had to take another test which is 100% effective in showing if I have one or the other, but I won't know for 2 days. She told me to stay home from work for 2 days, but there's just no way I can. She wrote me a doctor's note and told me if I changed my mind, to give my boss the note.
As much as I really really really want to stay home (I seriously feel like shit), I just can't. Today's the first day of Phase 4 and I have so much to do. Plus, every day I miss, that's how many days gets extended on training and I just want to get it done with. I have one month left.
I was prescribed this interesting liquid medication that has novocane, tylenol and something else in it. So basically it's numbing my throat, taking away the pounding headache, and makin me feel better. Now I'm able to swallow some yogurt before I go to work. I plan on taking this medicine to work, drinking it like it's my favorite drink in the whole wide world, and takin some soup. I think I should be fine.
Until then, I'm gonna take a nap. :)

I am SO sorry to hear that you are sick. And that you have to work too, although I understand why you need to go in. I always would show up to work sick too, and then let my boss be the one to order me to go home. I felt that looked better than calling in.
Hope you are on the mend real soon!
Oh dear, I'm so sorry you got worse. Well, soldier on as best you can. I hope you'll feel better soon. *sending good vibes your way*
