Championship

I must brag that my all time favorite team (I'm a "raised fan" I guess you would say) just beat North Carolina and is in the Championship (taking place Monday at 9pm/8pm central). That's right! :)

The Kansas Jayhawks.

It has been awhile since KU has been in the Championship. If I remember right, the last time Kansas was in the Championship was when it was KU vs Syracuse. Syracuse won, unfortunately. Now, KU is almost always in the Final Four no doubt, but that seems to be where we choke. Not this time though. We rocked it this time and I'm very proud of my team.

This weekend has been an overall great weekend, despite the fact that I caught a head cold. I got up this morning around 7am to go to the shooting range with a few of my friends. When I woke up I had this terrible head cold (the kind where it feels like you've been hit with a train) and almost didn't go, but I decided shooting was just far too fun to skip out on. So, I drove out to Baldwin City and shot my glock, I shot the beautiful rifle the guys provided me, and I also had a chance to shoot an Uzi. I've never shot one of those before but let me express to you how amazing those guns are. There's hardly any recoil at all and aligning the sights on those is very, very simple. I enjoyed it by far.

Also, I might add, I successfully hit a small steel target 100 yards away with my glock. Not an easy thing to do, as other gun shooters will atest to.

Apart from shooting, I went to Lawrence (my hometown) and visited my dad, uncle, aunt, brother, sisters, brother's friends, cousins. It was a nice barbeque (more of an African barbeque than you're typical Kansas City BBQ). I had a chance to catch up with the family, something I hardly get to do these days. Then my sister and her friend came back with me to Kansas City to watch the KU game, which we obviously won. :)

So, it has been a good weekend. Now all I need to do is get over this cold I got from one of the guys at work. :P
